I see and hear so much about mindfulness. Practising meditative techniques to remove stress is a great idea and good for the health. However, what about practising awareness? When we practise awareness, we are taking note of the energy around us, of the affect of our energy, words or actions on others.
It isn’t just about how do we experience our world. It’s also about how our world experiences us. How do others experience us? Where does our right to be who we be give ground to the rights of others? How can mindfulness lead us to harmlessness?
Perhaps this is also something to explore in a group context.
